WHAT IS KOMBUCHA?

With a history spanning over 2,000 years, kombucha tea is regarded as the "Elixir of Life". Kombucha is a fermented drink with billions of probiotic living organisms that aid in digestion and immune support. Many people who enjoy kombucha tea on a regular basis feel energized, euphoric and healthy from the inside out.

HISTORY

There is evidence that Genghis Khan and his men drank kombucha in the 12th century for vitality and strength. From Asia it traveled the Silk Road to Japan, Korea and finally Russia, where definite record keeping dates to the late 19th century.

PROCESS

Water, tea, sugar, and a culture called SCOBY (Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast) make kombucha. After steeping tea in boiling water and allowing it to cool, a SCOBY is added to the room temperature tea. This mixture then ferments in a warm room for 1-2 weeks.

HEALTH
